It was Friday night, June 26th. A typhoon was approaching Osaka.

This was the day before the Hawaiian Festival I wrote about in my previous article . The venue was the ATC LOUNGE on the 12th floor of the ITM building. The sunset view may not have been as spectacular as I had hoped. Nevertheless, the air in the lounge was not cloudy at all.

Having an office in ATC means not only having a workplace overlooking Osaka Bay, but also having opportunities for people working in this building to meet face-to-face. That night, the meaning of that became a little clearer to me.

A night to share our 1st anniversary with our residents.

"SUNSET CHILL LOUNGE Vol.3" was a raffle held to commemorate the first anniversary of ATC LOUNGE and LINE Friends. It ran from 5 PM to 9 PM, with the final entry at 8:30 PM. Only those who had added "ATC Tenant Support" as a friend on LINE were eligible to participate. The system allowed the first 500 people to participate simply by showing a business card or employee ID and a smartphone.

The prizes included some that made you do a double-take. There were round -trip tickets on the Osaka-Beppu route of the Sunflower ferry (superior twin room, car allowed), admission tickets to Funeshiru , and tickets to the Whiskey Festival , Detective Precure , and Reptiles Fever. There were also smaller prizes such as ATC vouchers, 200 yen coupons, and drinks, so the chances of winning were surprisingly wide-ranging. The music by DJ Yukimari and DJ Hokky seemed to make us forget the cloudy sky outside the window.

To be honest, the scenery wasn't the main attraction that night. I heard that the venue was packed with people until the very end, despite the approaching typhoon. I later heard many people say that they were able to talk a little with someone they usually only knew by name, even though they worked in the same building.

Having familiar faces outside the company at the office

The Office Business Division and the Corporate Strategy Office spearheaded this project. Their idea was to create a space where people could naturally strike up conversations while waiting for their turn in the lottery, rather than a stiff, formal networking event. That's how SUNSET CHILL LOUNGE was born.

Honestly, I'm still not sure if things went as planned. Nevertheless, it seems that some unexpected business discussions arose from casual conversations while waiting for the lottery results. I think that night brought us a little closer to the people at the neighboring company, a relationship that wasn't apparent through just exchanging business cards. When deciding to rent an office, it's not just about rent and location, but also about these kinds of chance encounters.

At ATC, we believe that the best way to spread ATC's reputation beyond Osaka is to ensure that our tenant companies feel, "We're glad we're in ATC."

Why have an office in Sakishima, not Umeda or Namba?

Many companies considering an office at ATC are initially surprised by what they see outside the windows. This summer at ATC

The tickets to Reptiles Fever , which were the "Exciting Prize" in the raffle , can be used this weekend, July 4th (Sat) and 5th (Sun), at ATC Hall. It's an event where you can meet reptiles that look like tiny dinosaurs, so if you won, please come and check it out.

And from July 18th (Saturday), the "Ghibli Park Exhibition" will begin at the ATC Gallery (ITM Building 2F). It's an interactive exhibition that condenses the world nurtured at Ghibli Park in Aichi Prefecture. The exhibition will run for about two months, until September 26th (Saturday). When you hear about the evenings at SUNSET CHILL LOUNGE, you realize that the view wasn't the main attraction after all. It was the time when people working in the same building were simply in the same space, not talking about work or just chatting. The decision to choose an office isn't just about comparing size and rent.
