New free games arrive at Osaka ATC | Summer 2026 Guide

Hello, this is Robert from the ATC Management Strategy Office. Exactly one week has passed since last week's article . This is the third installment of "ATC, Summer is in Full Swing."

There's a Polish word called "smaczek." It refers to a hidden inside joke or detail in a movie or game that only those who notice it will appreciate. It sounds like a sweet treat, but it's actually a little game of hide-and-seek. Today is the perfect day for this word.

For the past few weeks, the little game our team has been working on has been on my mind. It's called "ATC Bay Runner." I only mentioned it briefly in a previous article, but today I can finally tell you all about it.

Even though it's the same place, it looks slightly different in pixel art.

"ATC Bay Runner," a small game born from the scenery of ATC.

The reason was surprisingly simple. The ATC building itself, if you look closely, has a shape that looks like it could be the setting for a video game. The wide corridor at the ATC main gate, the vertical lines of the ITM office tower, the sunset visible from the seaside terrace. I think it was at the end of May when someone first said that.

Recently in Osaka, we've been hearing a lot about various forms of entertainment and initiatives centered around esports. ATC Bay Runner is our own small response to these larger trends. It's not a project with a large budget. We just thought it would be interesting to turn the charm of ATC itself into a game. That's how simple the idea started.

The word "smaczek," which I mentioned at the beginning, is actually a word that seems to have been made for this game. I've hidden several smaczeks in ATC Bay Runner. If you've ever been to ATC, you might exclaim, "Oh, I know this place!" while playing.

Among them, there is one secret that hasn't been announced anywhere yet. No one in the company has noticed it yet. You, who are reading this article, are probably the first to figure it out. I won't give any hints. If you find it, please tell me in secret.

The game is easy to play. Just open it in your browser; no installation or registration is required. You control a blue character and race through three stages in order: ATC Main Gate, ITM Office Tower, and Seaside Terrace. Collect coins, defeat enemies by stomping on them from above, and a boss battle awaits you at the final Seaside Terrace. Defeat the boss to clear the stage. A LINE coupon will be displayed on the clear screen. It's a coupon that can be used directly in stores, so be sure to open it after you clear the stage.

The Ghibli Park exhibition has been open for a week now.

It's hard to believe, but a week has already passed since the Ghibli Park Exhibition opened on July 18th. I wrote about what it was like on opening day in my previous article . The floors of the ITM building have remained lively ever since that day.

Enjoy playing while cooling off at the newly opened "Treasure Land".

In addition to the Ghibli Park exhibition, there's another thing to look forward to this summer. A crane game specialty shop, "Treasure Land Nanko ATC," has opened on the 5th floor of the ITM building, right next to ATC Asobi Mare. The range of prizes is wider than I expected, including not only snacks and drinks, but also everyday items like tissues and toilet paper. It's open from 10am to 20pm and is open every day.

To be honest, July in Osaka is unbearably hot. However, thanks to its design facing the sea, the ATC building feels somewhat cooler than outside. You can access the ATC from the nearest New Tram "Trade Center-mae" station via a single covered pedestrian bridge, so you hardly have to walk in the blazing sun. See the Ghibli Park exhibition and try your luck at Treasureland. Just moving around the cool building will fill up a summer day surprisingly quickly.

This time, I'm finally able to release "ATC Bay Runner," a project I've been working on for a long time. As someone who was involved in the planning from the beginning, I'm most looking forward to the reactions after its release. I'd be happy if you could find the hidden smaczek.
