Hello, this is Robert from the ATC Management Strategy Office. Another week has passed since last week's article . This is the sixth installment of "ATC, Summer is in Full Swing."
There's a Polish word, "poblask," which refers to the faint remnants of light that remain on the sky or walls after the bright sun has faded. It's also used when you vaguely sense the presence of something that hasn't arrived yet. Walking around ATC after the Obon festival, I encountered this kind of moment many times.
Serial Feature | ATC, Summer is Here. Part 7 of 8
To be honest, finding a place to eat lunch at ATC during the Obon period was quite a challenge. Nevertheless, it simply makes me happy to think that so many families chose to spend their summer holidays at ATC.
Last year, the Osaka-Kansai Expo took place, making the entire Sakishima area busier than usual. Yet this year, far from being quieter due to the absence of the Expo, it actually feels even more lively than last year. The Ghibli Park Exhibition, DINO SAFARI, and the Insect Touch Exhibition—it's likely that very few people at ATC this summer didn't stop at some kind of event.
Of course, the events aren't the only reason. I think the value of ATC at this time of year lies in the fact that you can escape the heat outside to restaurants and cafes with ocean views, or simply stroll around the cool interior.
I am truly grateful to everyone who chose to spend their time at ATC during the Obon holiday. This feeling motivates me to work even harder on social media to let more people know about ATC.
Looking back on this summer's trip
Looking back, this series has been a long journey. It began in early July , as we awaited the opening of the Ghibli Park Exhibition, and I wrote about those scorching hot days. In the following week , I introduced Funeshiru's new sweets, creating a small prelude to the main event. The week the Ghibli Park Exhibition actually opened was filled with the lively hustle and bustle of the venue.
And so, the free game "ATC Bay Runner" was born . The little playful touch (smaczek) that the development team hid remains undiscovered to this day. In August, we were enveloped in the buzzing of insects' wings (brzęczenie) at the insect exhibition venue , and last week we introduced why ATC is called "Dreamcore," along with the word "dreamlike illusion" (majak).
Looking at them all lined up again, it all started with the heat, then the premonition, the liveliness, the playfulness, the buzzing of wings, and finally, the illusion. Even though I was walking through the same place, ATC, it felt like it showed me a completely different face each week.
After TikTok, it's Instagram. Even closer.
In last week's article, I introduced two TikTok accounts with very different personalities. Actually, there's one more ATC account that I haven't properly introduced yet: Instagram, "@atc_sakishima".
While it's sometimes thought of as similar to TikTok, I personally think it's a little different. If TikTok is an entry point for people to learn about ATC, then Instagram is a place to connect more closely with people who already know about us.
If you take a look at the account, you'll find posts like "The Daily Life of ATC Public Relations Officer C-ko," which chronicles the daily lives of the staff, as well as street interviews with people who have appeared in ATC Pop Culture Academy. We also receive many direct messages from our followers, and we try to answer questions and requests as directly as possible.
Among the posts was a playful (smaczek) image of the ATC building depicted in an 8-bit game style. I think these little discoveries are one of the joys of browsing Instagram.
If you have any photos you took at ATC or any fun experiences you'd like to share, please do! You can send us a DM or leave a comment. We also welcome you to share on your Stories or discuss potential collaborations. We look forward to hearing from you on Instagram or ATC's official X account .
It might be a bit premature, but the "Sakishima Children's EXPO" is coming back in October.

For two days, the entire Sakishima area will be the venue, including not only ATC, but also the Osaka Prefectural Sakishima Government Building, Mizuno, Morinomiya University of Medical Sciences, and Soai University.
With events like the Autumn Dance Festival Grand Prix, Robot Street, and displays of working vehicles, it looks like there will be even more to see and do than last year. Admission is free. More details will be announced in future updates.

Wandering around the building during the Obon holiday looking for a place to eat lunch might be my best memory of the year. That's how lively ATC was this summer.
