"Where are we?" the child asks. You can see Osaka Bay. There's parking for 1,200 cars, so you won't have any trouble finding a spot, morning or night. You can also see the Tomica Expo , have lunch by the sea, have a BBQ, and play until 9 pm. It's all in one place—that's ATC.

Children running around in an indoor amusement park. At the Tomica Expo, they pick up a toy car and say, "Oh, I like this one." Lunch at a cafe overlooking the sea. "I want to do that next," the child says. Just walking in that direction leads to the next activity. Planning is actually a hindrance.

Kids can play to their heart's content because ATC is open from 10 am to 21 pm. It has events, food, and play areas—everything you need. There's also parking for 1,200 cars, so you can park in the morning and leave in the evening, giving you plenty of time.

I used to think that Golden Week was a tough time for parents, but it's different at ATC. You arrive in the morning and stay until night. You can stay there until your child says, "I want to come again."

Lunch under 1,000 yen with a view of Osaka Bay

Breakfast at a cafe overlooking the sea. A kids' meal at a hamburger shop. A window seat at an Italian restaurant. No matter which you choose, it's under 1,000 yen, and you get the same view of the sea. There's no reason to go to another place with a better view.

At Umiere Square, some parents are waiting for the sunset while sipping beer. Watching their children run around while gazing out at the sea. In the lounge, on the terrace, anywhere is fine. Just hearing the children's laughter makes the parents' stress disappear. This is what Golden Week is all about.

Watching the sunset over Osaka Bay from Umiere Square. As I gazed at the sea dyed orange with my child, he asked, "What is this?" When I took a picture, it became a place that I could look back on later and remember, "Ah, that was the time."

When it got dark, we moved to the BBQ area . We ate grilled meat with the ocean as our backdrop. The adults drank beer, and the kids drank juice. The kids were in a good mood even though we weren't doing anything in particular. For the parents, just looking at their children's faces was enough. The night breeze was pleasant, making us want to come back again. This is the best part of Golden Week.

The key to Golden Week isn't where you go, but who you spend it with and how you spend it.

This year, we went to ATC. I held my child's hand and walked around all day. He was asleep in the car on the way home. I'm sure he'll say he wants to come again.
