Have you decided where to go in Osaka this weekend?

A cool place where you can spend a pleasant time, whether with children, friends, or alone. When you list the conditions, the number of candidates is surprisingly small. But Osaka ATC has just the right things gathered together on June 27th (Sat) and 28th (Sun).

In my last article , I wrote about the Whisky Festival and how ATC was used as a filming location for a movie. This weekend's story is a little lighter. A stage will be set up on the beach, and the end-of-June breeze is beginning to move.

What social media has revealed about ATC's current state.

The official TikTok account for ATC ( @atc_osaka ) has recently changed a bit. Instead of just posting facility information, they've started a series where they directly interview visitors, asking "What kind of place is ATC?" Cosplayers, families, people on their way home from work—everyone answers differently. But many say, "I'll come again."

It's easy to see why these videos have garnered so many "likes." The dance festival videos, the character event footage, and the videos of staff simply walking around the building—each one offers a glimpse into the everyday life of ATC.

And there's also been a small change on X (formerly Twitter) recently. The official ATC account ( @nanko_atc ) had apparently been posting almost entirely by one person for a long time. But then one day, this announcement arrived: "Two younger sisters have joined us."

The post, which featured a photo of the three characters—eldest daughter Ami, second daughter T-ko, and third daughter C-ko—was released, and when I saw it, I couldn't help but think, "That's nice." Even though it's a company's social media account, there's something warm about it.

Since then, every morning I hear messages like, "The weather in the Osaka Bay Area is sunny," or "Taking a walk along the beach while watching the Sunflower ferry is so calming." It feels less like information and more like a message arriving from someone's window in the morning. Stories of hibiscus flowers blooming, new restaurants opening—these little discoveries are piling up little by little each day.

This account is a must-see for anyone who wants to get a feel for the Osaka Bay Area atmosphere, even from afar. What's happening at ATC this weekend (June 27th & 28th)

On Saturday, June 27th and Sunday, June 28th, we have three exciting things planned for this weekend only.

① Get a gift by registering on LINE — Saturday and Sunday

You can receive a free gift by adding the official ATC LINE account as a friend on the 2nd floor of the ITM building . Simply scan the QR code to complete the process. This offer is limited to the first 200 people each day and is only available between 10:30 and 15:00, so it's recommended to stop by early.

② Hawaiian Festival — Sundays 13:00-20:00, Free Admission

On Sunday, June 28th, the "Hawaiian Festival / ATC Aloha Ondo Festival" will be held at the ATC Seaside Stage. The subtitle is "A summer festival connecting the sea and the city."

From 1 PM, seven hula groups, including Halau Hula'O kou Pua, will take the stage. With the ocean as a backdrop, authentic hula dancing will continue. From 5 PM, the atmosphere will shift to Bon Odori (traditional Japanese dance), with performances by Shoryukai and Dotonbori Gachikyara Wolfen. Around 7 PM, as the sun begins to set, the sounds of Bon Odori will blend with the colors spreading across the ocean. At that moment, this place feels most like summer. Participation is free until 8 PM.

③ Craftsmanship Workshop — Sundays 11:00 AM - 16:00 PM

Also on Sunday, June 28th, the "ATC Play and Learn Workshop" will be held at Forest Park on the 2nd floor of the North Wing of the Oz Building. There will be hands-on activities such as making slime, shake-shake keychains, and squishy shake-shake keychains. Participation fee starts from 500 yen. Children of all ages are welcome to participate.

After the workshop, you can walk around the building and head to the Hawaiian Festival in the afternoon—you can structure your day like that.

Until July 12th (Sunday) — Detective Precure! Mystery Solving Festival

On Saturdays and Sundays only, the " Detective Precure! Solve Mysteries Together! Hanamaru Kaiketsu Festival! " is still being held on the 4th floor of the ITM building. It started on May 16th and will end on July 12th (Sunday). It will be held on Saturday and Sunday this weekend as well, so you can spend a whole day at ATC by combining it with the Hawaiian Festival and workshops.

The exhibits mainly consist of interactive mystery-solving activities, which are sure to delight young children. Tickets are time-slot specific for all days, so we recommend checking and purchasing them on the official website before visiting.

If you haven't decided where to go in Osaka this weekend, consider the waterfront area of ​​ATC. You could make something in the morning, watch hula dancing in the afternoon, and hear the sounds of Bon Odori dancing as dusk falls. A day like that will probably make the journey home feel a little brighter.
