The Micromouse competition is a competition in which participants build their own autonomous robots and compete to see who can reach the goal in the shortest time, using only their own power.

This competition originated in 1977 when it was proposed by the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). In Japan, it has been held annually since 1980 as the "All Japan Micromouse Competition," and as the first "Robocon" in Japan, the All Japan competition has been held continuously for over 30 years, making it one of the oldest robot competitions in the world.
