Since the COVID-10 pandemic, services using XR technologies such as VR and AR have been increasing due to the growing need for remote and virtual experiences. The market is also growing year by year, and it is said that the Japanese XR market will reach 2 trillion yen by 2027. Against the backdrop of this market boom, ODP will open "ODP XR Lab," a permanent, experiential exhibition hall specializing in XR, on October 1, 2026, to further boost the XR field.

This lab is not simply an exhibition hall displaying the latest equipment. It is a "co-creation space" where creators can bring their ideas to life, verify and exhibit them using the latest devices, and ultimately lead them to social implementation.

To commemorate the opening of the "ODP XR Lab," we will be holding a seminar. This seminar will feature frontrunners in the XR field, including Nicole Kondo, CEO of Hero Egg Co., Ltd., who has attracted attention as a high school entrepreneur, and Osamu Ogo, CEO of USEYA Co., Ltd., who has been selected for a global XR award for two consecutive years. They will delve into the future of XR technology and the realistic possibilities of its social implementation, as seen from their cutting-edge initiatives. In addition, following the seminar, we will hold an experience session of the "ODP XR Lab" prior to its official opening.

This event will offer new insights not only for those interested in using XR in their own services or those involved in XR content development, but also for anyone interested in technology trends. We encourage you to participate.

What is ODP XR Lab?

"ODP XR Lab" is a permanent, interactive exhibition facility themed around XR technology. The approximately 80-square-meter facility displays about 10 pieces of content utilizing XR technology, primarily from Osaka-based companies. The number of exhibits will be increased in the future, and the exhibits will be rotated regularly.
